Super Fun With LEGOs Sets, At Any Age!
Sep/090
LEGOs sets aren’t only for the young, but the young at heart. Remember when we laid on the floor with our LEGOs and entertained ourselves for hours, hours that eventually turned into years? Remember the first time you saw your child do the same thing? LEGOs continue to stir the imagination and creativity in us all!
The more intricate and detailed the sets, the more we want to conquer them! LEGOs are the original 3-D puzzle, and matching wits with the designers has its own rewards. When the sets are completed we witness a work of art, not to be touched. Your average 5-year old may not be interested in building the Eiffel Tower at such a young age, but a little older child or even a full grown adult would love the challenge!
Our daughters loved what we called dearly, ‘girl LEGOs.’ My oldest daughter is a Marine now, but she remembers playing with her pastel colored bricks for hours. Tucked away on the top shelf of the guest room are two large Rubbermaid containers that house our kids’ bricks. We kept the girls’ bricks in the blue container, and the boys used a green one. NO one liked to find a pastel brick mixed in with the brightly colored ones! The kids are grown now, but the containers come down whenever company comes over to entertain the next generation. They’re timeless.
LEGOs aren’t simply a kit full of bricks anymore. They are video games, they’re a club you can join, they’re international adventure parks you can take your kids to, and they’re still very much a collector’s item. Young and old are enjoying collecting and trading LEGOs sets of every type. Star Wars themes still wow us all, and the X-Wing Fighter has become a hard to find item.
So if your family is new, don’t forget to introduce your young ones early on to the creative play LEGOs offer. Larger bricks are good for pudgy handed toddlers and will teach them dexterity.
